MIDI Marc- Beats In The Key Of C: A Tribute To Pimp C [OVAGROUND EXCLUSIVE] [NEW MUSIC]

Yessuuuuuurrrrr!!!!!!

Finally...some bump you can REALLY ride to.

The Carolina beatmaker extraordinaire Midi Marc has some new bump for ya'll to ride to. Inspired by the late great Port Arthur rapper/producer Chad "Pimp C" Butler is Midi's latest project titled Beats In The Key Of C: A Tribute To Pimp C.

This mostly instrumental fare was obviously composed with the TRILL essence of Pimp C in mind. One listen to these soulful instrumental and you'll be transformed into your own Cadillac Brougham with swangers & 84's shined up with a double-cup in your hand. It's a Southside party early into 2014.

Here's some words from Midi about the project:

Pimp C has given me a great deal of inspiration over the years so I wanted to put together a project to pay tribute to him and the style of Hip-Hop music that he played a major part in developing. I always felt like my generation of Southern Hip Hop fans needed to do a better job at paying tribute to the pioneers that broke down all of the doors for us to be our "Southern selves" musically. I'm not one to just sit back and complain. I'm a creator, and when it comes to music I want to lead by example and be part of the solution. Pimp C and many others made Hip Hop music and let their state/regional culture shine through their art-form. His lyrics along with his delivery and tone kept you on the edge of your seat wondering what he was going to say next. His beats were soulful and heavily influenced by the gospel, jazz, blues, and funk music that has always lived on the Gulf Coast. I'm releasing this music in hopes that it inspires, just like Pimp C has inspired me. I want to thank all of my family, friends, and fans for all of the love you continue to show my music. One Love from Hopkins, South Carolina.Long Live The Pimp!

This project is also coinciding with Midi Marc's birthday (Jan 28)...so you have 2 options. You can stream the project in its entirety on Midi's Soundcloud page OR you can slide over to Midi's Bandcamp page and purchase the DELUXE version with some instrumental extras and an exclusive behind the scenes video. To paraphrase Lisa McDowell on Coming To America, "Midi is happy for the streams that jingle but he would rather have that download money that folds."

So, download the project in full below and turn it up to stupid levels mane. Long Live the Pimp mane!!!
