MIDIMarc: A Tribute To Michael Jackson [OVAGROUND EXCLUSIVE DOWNLOAD]

Yessir,

Please check this thang out just for the sheer game of MJ and MIDI. I already know it something classical homey.

-L'Daialogue

p.s. Also, check out MIDI's explanation for the project below with the link. MJ lives!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

____________________________________________________

Of course I'd like to thank God for blessing me with talent and drive and for blessing me with platforms to share His gifts. I've made thousands of beats, but this time there was a closeness to the music I've never experienced before.

Michael Jackson was my FIRST inspiration in music. There is literally no time in my life that isn't accompanied by one of his songs. Like so many others I was glued to the television, radio, tape, record, and cd player whenever he was there. His death, or murder rather, came as a shock to me and the rest of the world. His music is so awesome that even though you've never met him, you felt like you knew him.

Coincidentally I lost my grandmother Birdie Shivers days after MJ's death and it felt like I lost 2 family members the same week. Before the tragedy he was so reclusive that it still hasn't really clicked with a lot of folks that he's gone...maybe gone isn't a word to use in this case.

He left us with so much music that he'll never leave our memories. These instrumentals were created as a thank you to the greatest artist of all time, and in hope that my music inspired by MJ, will inspire YOU the listener to pursue your passion whatever it is with a sense of integrity, respect for the past, appreciation for the present, and an optimistic view of the future.

If you downloaded this project and are to young to have experienced new MJ's music, I pray that this tribute will inspire you to travel back in time with all of the music he has left you with as a time line of his life as well as history. He left you with over 40 years of magic..please experience it at any capacity.

I also want to thank all of my supporters..and there are too many to name and you know who you are...right?! I want to thank my parents for buying me MJ's music and for not getting angry with me when i scuffed up the kitchen floor from practicing my moonwalk. A special thanks also goes to Cole Audett for donating his time and talents towards the cover art for this projects.

In memory of Michael Jackson and my grandmother Birdie Shivers

Dr. Dre Speaks On Game vs. 50 Cent (kinda)

And,

This is what I'm talking about. Dr. Dre is on video talking about the Detox record and then Jimmy Iovine cuts him off.

Something smells of cover-up or something. Why wouldn't Jimmy let Dre finish?

Damn, shows who REALLY runs the game over there.

Check it out.

InDAIpendent Ep. 1: L'Daialogue Getting Kicked Out Of Universal Music Group

Hey Young World,

The first episode of L'Daialogue's "The Making Of My InDAIpendent EP" captures him directly in front of Universal Music Group as an in"DAI"pendent artist symbolically (and literally) standing in front of a major label preparing for a photo shoot and subsequently being escorted off of their premises...

Yeah, he got moved from the premises..lol. But, he made a cool point and connected it with his EP.

But, check it out. InDAIpendent IS coming soon. Word to MIDI Marc.

Charles Hamilton is BACK!!!!

Well, well, well...

Out of the darkness of the cut comes Hamilton.

I guess..with all of the stuff that was going on (getting punched, dissed and stealing beats etc, etc.) PLUS getting dropped from Interscope...he has a new lease on life and his position in the game.

Hey, I don't hate...get your grind on.

And check out this cool vid from Charles and peep the tagger that was gettin' it in on the corner of LaCienega and Sunset (what up Los Angeles@!).

Check it out. Sonic is BACK!!!!

The Battle Of The Oddisee's: L'Daialogue's "Odd Daialogue 2" vs. Tom Chase's "The Oddisee Experiment"

Two emcees. One producer. One victor (not really, but lol!)

But really it's good music all around.

Check it out. Oddisee is coming up these days and after the release of his acclaimed "Odd Summer" and "Odd Autumn" instrumental series...it was only a matter of time before someone rapped over some of his smooth production.

L'Daialogue has (as he's done before) rapped over and created 2 separate projects from Oddisee's "Odd Summer" and "Odd Autumn" instrumental sets creating his "Odd Daialogue" & "Odd Daialogue 2" EP sets. Both have downloads within the thousands.

Tom Chase (via the Rock The Dub http://tinyurl.com/yf7deo2) is another emcee out of the St. Joe Louis collective that has created his own interpretative project entitled "The Oddisee Experiment".

Both are dope...

I suggest you check both of the projects out...and leave a comment who won...lol.

Midi Marc On Point Magazine Interview:"Beats and Rhymes"

Yo,

Check out this NEW Midi Marc interview in the On Point Magazine. I'm loving that L'Daialogue DiCaprio plug on the end (InDAIpendent EP Coming Soon)...lol.

I think the game would be a lot better if folks would take a page from our book on southern hospitality. When we visit another area, we do it with a great deal of respect for the host, whether we’re visiting a place next door, or a place on the other side of the map.

As a producer how would you label your sound overall?

Midi Marc: I’m influenced by a number of producers from different hip-hop genres. From the RZA to Mannie Fresh, from Pete Rock to Battle Cat. I would definitely label my sound as diverse

What type of equipment do you use when crafting your beats?

Midi Marc: Right now I’m using FL Studio along with a Novation Xio 25 keyboard. Simple, Effective, and Portable

How do you know when a record is the one you want to sample?

Midi Marc: A lot of times I can tell that I’m going to sample it as soon as I hear the first few notes. Even if I’m not going to use the first piece of the sample, I can tell by the feel of the music if a part is coming in soon. The records with the craziest/gayest artwork usually have the dopiest samples…ha ha!

What’s your 3 favorite tracks that you produced in 2009?

1. Fat Rat Da Czar – Do Whud I Do
2. Marly Mar – Hood Rich
3. Ice Mike ft Raw White, Beer 30, and Lil Boosie – Buddy Do I

I saw you made a comment about Hip Hop being a little too Negative? Explain?

Midi Marc: There has always been what a lot of folks would perceive as negative in Hip Hop, but these days the negativity seems internal. I see negativity in the comments and feelings from a lot of New York artist and its all directed toward the South. Sometimes I feel like they’re saying Hip Hop is cool only when it comes from “here”, and if it is going to come from another place..it has to be approved by “us”. All its doing is causing division when the culture has grown to the point where there should be so much more unity. I think the game would be a lot better if folks would take a page from our book on southern hospitality. When we visit another area, we do it with a great deal of respect for the host, whether we’re visiting a place next door, or a place on the other side of the map.

Any Up coming Projects in 2010?

Midi Marc: Be on the lookout for Fat Rat Da Czar’s – Cold War 3 in 2010 along with songs with songs with some of SC dopest artist (Verse Tha Vet, Hollywood, Trapstar, Marly Mar, Boondak Syndicate and more) I’ll be teaming up with other SC producer throughout the year for some compilations. And be on the look out for L’Daialogue from Memphis, TN…we have some serious heat in the stash!
